8 DAY BEST OF ZANZIBAR TOUR
Day One: Arrive at Zanzibar Airport/Seaport and meet your Kompass Safari representative who will escort you to your 4 star accommodation in Stone Town. You will be greeted with a welcome drink and following check in, we will be ready to start exploring. The Stone Town Tour includes historical sites such as the Sultan’s Palace, House of Wonders, Old Slave Market, Zanzibar town Market, Zanzibar Peoples Palace, Old Dispensary, Palace Museum, Old custom House and the Old Arab Fort all of which will be seen on this guided tour.
Following a delicious seafood lunch it is time for the Spice Tour, which will show why Zanzibar is referred as to the ‘Spice Island’ of the Indian Ocean. This is a walking tour of a working spice farm where you can see how the spices are grown whilst learning about their history. You will have also the opportunity to taste and smell the tropical fruits and spices like cloves, cardamon, cinnamon, lemongrass, nutmeg, root ginger, vanilla and many other varieties herbs and plants. After this we return you to the hotel for leisure time, perhaps at the pool, dining and a well deserved nights sleep.
Day Two: Breakfast will be served at your hotel and after this we shall board the private boat to Prison Island for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling with giant turtles. Following our time at the island we return to Stone Town where we will watch the beautiful sunset from the Africa House Sunset Lounge before heading back to your hotel for the evening.
Day Three: Following breakfast, we head to the Jozani Friendly Monkeys Forest to spend some time with the rare red Colobus Monkeys. This forest is one of the last remaining sanctuaries for the conservation of this previously endangered monkey and you will be able to get up close your new friends as they wander free and safe providing excellent opportunities for sightings and photo opportunities. We spend the day at the forest and then take you back to your hotel for the evenings dining, relaxation and rest.
Day Four: After all the sightseeing and activities you may be wanting an unscheduled day of relaxation and leisure, so today you can take your time to relax poolside at your hotel. If you would rather keep up the pace, we can organise additional options for activity and fun on request. Take your pick from swimming with dolphins, Big Game or Deep Sea Fishing, sea safari, scuba diving or snorkeling (additional fees may apply)
Day Five: After your breakfast we make our way to the Nungwi, on the northern tip of the island. This village is well known for its dhow building and you will be able to watch the boat builders and watch as they create their traditional dhows. During our time at Nungwi you can also choose to take advantage of the water sport options available here such as snorkeling, kitesurfing and parasailing. We will also have the chance to visit a village and spend some time with the locals. When we have finished the days activities you will be transferred to a luxury 5 star beach resort for three nights accommodation to enjoy a delicious dinner and your evening leisure time.
Day Six and Seven: Unscheduled days of relaxation and leisure, so you can either take your time to relax poolside at your hotel or we can organise additional options for activity and fun on request. Take your pick from swimming with dolphins, Big Game or Deep Sea Fishing, sea safari, scuba diving or snorkeling (additional fees may apply) The choice is yours to create the ideal vacation for you.
Day Eight: After breakfast we head to Stone Town for a last chance to pick up souvenirs and soak up the atmosphere before we take you to Zanzibar Airport/Sea port for onward travel.
