7 DAY RWANDA SAFARI
DAY1 : Arrival
Arrive at Kigali, meet and greet with our kompass safari staff/representative at Kanombe Airport in Kigali; Check in to your hotel, get briefed about Rwanda by our staff, your travel itinerary, culture and all other basic important information. Where time allows you can do city tour; the genocide memorial, crafts market and cultural centers.
DAY 2: To Nyungwe Forest
At the sunrise wake up and treat yourself to a lush breakfast and set off for a drive of about 3 hrs to the Southwest through Nyungwe Forest National Park along local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza, Botanical Gardens, a cultural museum, green fields of tea scattered across the elevated hillsides and the small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest.
DAY 3: Nyungwe Forest
At the day break after breakfast do community or nature walk; visit the community to see how they live, traditions, cultures and the social economics of these people as you watch a colorful array of birds like Rwenzori turaco and black and white casqued hornbill; enjoy a picnic lunch before returning back to you hotel in the evening.
DAY 4: Drive to Ruhengeri – Kinigi
After breakfast drive to Ruhengeri via Gisenyi Enjoying the rolling hills for about 5 hours to arrive at your hotel in Kinigi early enough for dinner.
DAY 5: Volcano National Park – Kinigi
Have an early start, after breakfast be at the”Pac des Volcano” headquarters at 7: 00am for briefing with your packed lunch and enough water. Start a rewarding but demanding experience into the mountains, you may walk 1 to 8 hours depending on the movement of these delightful creatures. After return to your hotel, and if time allows you may have a community walk or visit the pygmies the original inhabitants of this area.
DAY 6: Golden monkey and or Diana Fossey,
Visit the Diana Fossey grave, an American lady who was studying Gorillas in this park but was unluckily killed and buried in this camp. You may track the golden monkeys, rare and endemic to the Virunga, community walk visiting the Batwa community or go bird watching to come back in the evening for Dinner.
DAY 7: Kigali and Departure
After breakfast drive to Kigali for Lunch and after Lunch leisure around before transferring to the airport for your departure.
