6 DAY KENYA RIFT VALLEY AND LAKES SAFARI

TO NAIROBI, MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK, LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK, LAKE BOGORIA AND LAKE NAIVASHA

Day One: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Park

Arrival in the morning, meet and greet with our Kompass safari guide at your hotel in Nairobi or at Jomo-Kenyatta International Airport. Depart from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Park, driving through the breathtaking scenery of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch and check into your Lodge before taking an afternoon game drive.

Masai Mara National Reserve which is probably Kenya’s most famous, well known and most popular wildlife destination. Mara is almost certainly the best place to see the Big Five. It is home to all the iconic African wildlife of your safari daydreams. The millions of migratory herbivores are dominated by wildebeest, zebra, impala and gazelles. Elephant and buffalo are very common, in addition to eland, waterbuck, reed buck, several species of gazelle, Masai Giraffe, Topi, hartebeest, and some black rhino. The predators are dominated by lions with some exceptionally large prides and some of the highest densities in the world.  Also present are leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, wild dog, jackal, serval, caracal, bat eared fox and hyrax. The Mara River is home to large populations of hippo and crocodiles. Birdlife is also abundant with nearly 500 species recorded.

Day Two: Masai Mara National Park

After an early breakfast you can take an early morning game drive and continue exploring Masai Mara. The Reserve is one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries and it will leave you awestruck with its unequalled beautiful vistas and wildlife. You will also have to opportunity to visit a village and meet with the Masai people.

Optional activity

A hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara National Reserve is available at (supplementary cost by pre-arrangement). This is a stunning once in a lifetime experience to soar and drift above these African plains, spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing aerial view of the rivers, villages and wildlife below you.

Day Three: Masai Mara National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

Following breakfast and perhaps an early morning game drive, we depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch, have a thrilling game drive in the Park. Lake Nakuru is a home to fabulous flocks of lesser and greater Flamingos, which turn the lakeshores in to a splendid pink stretch. The bird life here is world renowned and over 400 bird species exist here including white pelicans, egrets and marabou stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white and black rhino and rare Rothschild’s giraffe.

Day Four: Lake Nakuru to Lake Bogoria

Enjoy breakfast and enjoy some time walking around the Lake; to see is the breeding center of Flamingo Birds, and other water birds around. You will then visit the natural hot springs of Lake Bogoria where you can soak, relax and explore.

Day 5: Lake Bogoria to Lake Naivasha

Following an early breakfast we depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, take a thrilling afternoon boat ride on the idyllic blue Lake looking out for hippo in the water and giraffes and zebra on the banks.

Day Six: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi and arrive in time for lunch, then be transferred to Jomo-Kenyatta International Airport for your onward travel.
