4 DAYS GORILLAS TRACKING RWANDA
DAY 1: Arrival – Volcano NP
On arrival, you will be met by our staff at Kanombe Airport in Kigali; he will help you with your luggage to the car and drive to Ruhengeri / Kinigi Hotel three-hour drive away from Kigali, driving across the rolling hills that are synonymous with Rwandan landscape. After check in to your guide will brief you about Rwanda, your travel itinerary and gorilla tracking rules and all that you require.
DAY 2: Gorilla tracking
After your early morning breakfast, with packed lunch, go for registration at the park offices and be ready for briefing at 7:00 am. Walk up the steep densely forested hills before coming across the Gorillas camouflaged in the forest vegetation. This trek requires a reasonable degree of fitness as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Sit in the forest among the Gorillas listening to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male. It is amazing to think that there only 700 individuals of these beautiful creatures left in the world.
DAY 3: Golden Monkeys
After breakfast with packed lunch visit the Diana Fossey grave, an American lady who was studying Gorillas in this park but was unluckily killed and buried in this camp. You may track the golden monkeys, rare and endemic to the Virunga. In the evening visit the Batwa, the original inhabitants of the area; come back early enough to leisure around as you wait for Dinner.
DAY 4: City tour
After breakfast drive to Kigali; visit the Genocide memorial, the crafts market before settling down for lunch and leisure around before transferring to the airport
