3 DAYS TANZANIA WILDLIFE SAFARI
TO LAKE MANYARA, NGORONGORO CRATER AND TARANGIRE
Day One: Arusha to Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your Kompass Safari guide and head to our first destination, Lake Manyara National Park. Here you will be captivated by one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, the famous tree-climbing lions, the large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake as well as over 400 spectacular bird species. Lake Manyara itself is a shallow soda lake, covering two-thirds of the park at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. After a busy but breathtaking day you will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at your Lodge.
Day Two: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater
Following breakfast, we travel onwards to experience the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is a constant feature on many a Bucket List. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. Not only is the crater a remarkable example of Africa’s natural beauty, but it is also one of the densest concentrations of African wildlife and home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of country’s last remaining black rhino. Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast array of wildlife including herds of zebra, buffalo, hippo, lions, cheetahs, leopard and giant African elephants to name but a few. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, and then travel to the Tarangire National Park for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day Three: Tarangire to Arusha
An early breakfast means we can fit in a stunning morning game drive as the sun rises over Tarangire National Park. The Park stretches along the banks of the Tarangire River and is made up of low lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor, Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The river and swamplands teem with African wildlife particularly during the dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa and is home to rare animals such as the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Return to your lodge for lunch after which we will depart for Arusha town where we shall drop you at your hotel.
