3 Days Murchison Falls National Park

3 or 4 DAY MURCHISON FALLS TOUR

Day One: Following an early breakfast, we depart from your hotel in Kampala at 7am. We drive north through Luweero and Masindi where you can take in the scenic views of traditional farms and villages. You should arrive at your lodging within the Park at around lunch time. Relax after lunch and head out for a game drive in the late afternoon. (Depending on time and where your accommodation is located you may either visit the top of Murchison Falls when you first enter the park or when you are departing on your final day.

Day Two: Early morning tea at 6.30am followed by an early game drive to Lake Albert Nile, also known as the ‘Buligi circuit’, where you can view the many animals drinking from the Lake before you cross to the northern bank by Ferry and continue with your game drive. Experienced guides will help you spot the famous residents of this park such as the elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes and many others species of birds & butterflies which are naturally abundant and free to roam here.
Lunch is served back at your Lodge. In the afternoon, the fun continues as we take a boat cruise to the base of the majestic Murchison Falls. From the boat you will see animals and all the beauty of the African terrain along the banks including idle crocodiles soaking up in the sun with their vast jaws menacingly agape and the vast array of bird life present here. The entire cruise is a unique spectacle, however the ‘piece de resistance’ is viewing the powerful Murchison Falls from the boat whilst actually floating at the bottom of this wonder of nature.

Day Three: Following breakfast, we head to Budongo Forest for a nature walk where you will see Chimpanzees on the Masindi-Paara Road. You will also have a chance to spot other primates such as the Red Tail and Blue Monkeys. There are a multitude of bird species in this area so it also provides a rich bird watching experience. We then head back to Kampala where you will be dropped either at your accommodation or at Entebbe Airport for onward travel.

Optional: Either on the way to Murchison Falls N P or on your return (we strongly recommend you do this on your return) you can elect to stop at Ziwa Ranch. This Rhino Sanctuary, set up in Nakasogola, is dedicated to bring about the return of the white rhino to Uganda where in the past they have been completely decimated. At the sanctuary, you can go on foot in the company of armed rangers and get ‘up close’ to these fascinating creatures. You can also lunch here but it is advisable to place your food orders before you go to see the rhinos as the restaurant is very slow in service.

For Four Night Tours to Murchison you will spend an extra day with two game drives- one in the morning and one in the evening.
