DAY TRIP TO JINJA, SOURCE OF THE NILE
Take a day trip to Jinja to discover the striking, scenic beauty of the source of The River Nile; discovered in 1858 by John Hanning Speke. Here you will spot the longest river in the world which winds 4,000 miles across Africa to the Mediterranean Sea.
In Jinja you will have time to soak up the atmosphere in the beautifully preserved Old Town. We also stop at vantage points to ensure you get a great view along the banks of the river and the source of the Nile. You will also be able to see the ‘Owen Falls Dam’ the source of hydroelectricity for Uganda. A boat trip to Samuka Island to take in the plentiful flora and fauna there is highly recommended.
Optional activity
The Nile is an exceedingly beautiful backdrop to adventures such as kayaking, river boarding, mountain biking or bungee jumping all of which we are happy to arrange as an additional afternoon activity for your time in Jinja.
WHITE WATER RAFTING DAY TRIP
You will never forget your white-knuckle ride, white water rafting down the River Nile. While white water rafting is a thrilling experience in itself the flora and fauna on the banks only adds to the unique excitement and experience of this once in a lifetime day on The Nile.
